DESCRIPTION

In this position, you will be responsible for the two main invoice waste programs in Amazon: Duplicate Invoice and Anomalous Invoice Identification and Prevention. You will lead a team of financial analysts and investigators responsible for reviewing transactions from our advance anomaly detection machine learning models and other data analysis tools. Every day our tools sort through millions of transactions to flag potential errors. It is your team's responsibility to review, analyze and prevent invoice defects prior to payment. You will influence technology owners on improving the accuracy of the tools used for detection. You will also have the opportunity to grow and develop your team members to face the constant evolution of our programs. You will manage processes, improve response times, manage escalations, define new ways to detect anomalies and work with senior stakeholders to prevent erroneous invoices at the source. A successful candidate is very organized, able to manage multiple team members while delegating properly. The selected person thrives in high-paced environments where change is constant and controllership is a top priority. You will own key performance indicators and will adjust processes to continue raising the bar throughout our complex systems.

A day in the life
- Ensure invoices are reviewed in a timely manner with proper escalations.
- Work with tech partners on aligning our product roadmap and prioritizing improvements.
- Learn about new invoicing sources and meet new teams to offer our support to ensure accurate payments to our vendors.
- Meet with your team members 1:1 to shape their career development through projects and process improvements.
- Foster career growth and skill development for Investigators
- Build strong succession plans
- Partner with various stakeholders for feature prioritization and process improvements
- Review invoice data to identify erroneous transactions and conduct root cause analysis to implement solutions.

About the team
Theft, Fraud, Abuse, and Waste (TFAW), within Finance Operations (FinOps), detects and prevents theft, fraud, abuse, and waste from vendors, carriers and employees globally

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
-Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, operations, or related areas
-3+ years of demonstrated people management experience
-Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
-Excellence in written and verbal communication
-Proven track record in process improvement and program management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience in FinOps, risk management, or fraud prevention
-Deep knowledge of invoice processing and payment systems
-Understanding of machine learning applications and data analysis
-Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements
